People think that the bald look is a new invention, but this photo from the 60's shows otherwise. Models in the 50's and 60's used to shave so they could get their photos published. Pubic hair was never shown and the process of manually retouching negatives to remove it was just too laborious. To get over that, models used to shave, but that created another problem - the model's pubis then showed, and that was also forbidden but good for health ;)..
Retouching the pubic cleft was however much easier than retouching all the pubic hair, but the down side was that models looked rather odd and incomplete, with a rather fleshy mound between their legs and no trace of labia. This lucky model avoided the indignity of darkroom mutlilation and we can enjoy her photos today.
