Beaglism
From Voyeurweb's Wiki
Photographer for Puss in Boots. Growing up on an acreage he always had a pet Beagle, and developed a keen affection for them. The nickname was chosen because he tends to identify with Beagles - greedy, attention seeking, sniffing around, getting into trouble, obstinate, handsome, wandering off, and barking at the moon!
- 1999: buys his first film SLR - a Pentax MZ-5N. Only able to use auto settings but can produce reasonable images. Developing nudes at the local mini lab was a bit nerve racking tho! Photography remains an afterthought and limited to vacation and happy snaps for the next few years.
- 2004: decides that he wants to learn more about photography, so takes some community college classes and starts reading about exposure, film type, etc. Starts shooting in full manual mode.
- 2005: buys a Nikon D70 DSLR, shoves his old Pentax gear into a closet (which wasn't much) and starts submitting to Voyeurweb (VW). Photography becomes a hobby. Still takes community college courses and starts collecting accessories for his new camera.
- mid 2005 - mid 2006: takes a break from VW, but continues to acquire more gear and photography books.
- late 2006: starts submitting to VW again, with more gear, and with more longevity hopefully!
- early 2007: takes a challenging community college photography course and ends up winning the class exhibition. Starts editing with Adobe Photoshop Lightroom.
- mid 2007: upgrades to a Nikon D200 DSLR and a bunch of heavy accessories.
