Golden hour

The first or last hour of sunlight. The sunrise and sunset often casts golden light. Others who cannot wake at such a silly hour in the morning, use reflectors with gold foil to simulate this effect. Simulating the golden hour is part of photographic lighting techniques. If a fill-in flash is use, the effect is not as dramatic. For full effect, the white balance should be set for direct sunlight; whereas, an automatic white balance might adjust for the lower sun angle through the atmosphere.
