Jacuzzi

The word Jacuzzi has become a common reference to a whirlpool or spa, although Jacuzzi is actually the name of one company that designs and builds whirlpools and spas. Since Jacuzzi was one of, if not the first, company to build these spas, their name has become synonymous with all hot, bubbly tubs of water. Much like the brand name Kleenex is synonymous with facial tissue.

A hot tub is different in that a hot tub does not typically denote that the water will be jetted or turbulent, just hot. Hot tubs were very popular in the 1970's, some made of wood like a very large wine barrel for people to sit in.
