Scarf Tag

Scarf tag (also known as CBB tag) is an ongoing CBB special project consisting of a series of themed contris. It began in 2005 when Lara purchased a white silk scarf and posted a Private Shots contri illustrating the rules. The scarf was then passed along and a tradition was born. "Who has the scarf?" has become a common question on the CBB as everyone anxiously awaits the next posting.

Rules of Scarf Tag

  • When you are tagged, the person who tags you sends you this white silk scarf in the mail. Personal hand-offs are also allowed and encouraged whenever possible!
  • Your job is to do a contri with the scarf, showing it in every photo. You can wear it, use it as a tablecloth, hang it over your lampshade, wave it around in the air, use it as your backdrop, indoor, outdoor... whatever you want.
  • Somewhere along the way, be sure to sign the scarf... and add a bit of extra decoration as well if you'd like. You can paint, draw, embroider, or just sign it with a permanent marker. Part of the fun of this project is watching the scarf fill up with lots of names as we continue playing Tag.
  • And that's all there is to it... other than tagging the next person. Be sure to check with the person you tag and know that they will accept the tag. Then just submit your contri, ending with a comment saying "OK _______, you're It!"
  • Participants are encouraged to take the scarf photos within 2-3 weeks of receiving the scarf. We like to see a scarf contri on VW at least every month or two, so if you agree to accept the tag, please keep it moving. If circumstances prevent taking photos within a month, please pass the scarf along to someone else. You can always receive it again later.
