|Contributor: When it was established in 1729, Baltimore laid further west than any other major Atlantic harbor and today it is the fifth busiest U.S. port. The best way to travel over water is by boat. And Baltimore has a water taxi service. I am not sure how to flag one down, so let me try this approach. (scavenger hunt: Boat)

|Contributor: Another way to travel over water is to use a bridge, like this one crossing the Potomac River that is named after . . . Frances Scott Key. In the foreground is the last remnant of the Aqueduct Bridge, built in 1834, that used to connect a canal on this side of the river to one on the other side of the river. So at one time, there were boats crossing OVER boats. (scavenger hunt: Bridge)
