1: noun [singular: prop; abbreviation of property]

portable objects, usually other than furniture and/or costumes, used to help convey the setting and/or action of a contri. They may be used in the background as part of the setting or in the foreground, perhaps being held or used by the model.

Examples of props: sex toys, holiday ornaments, food items, cars

2: noun [informal]

respect, thanks, or credit given to a person.

  • "Mad props" can be used as a means of intensification of "props."

Examples: Props to Igor for this great Wiki! And mad props for creating Voyeurweb!!!

3: noun

support structures such as poles or beam used to keep an object(s) in position. In photography, a prop may be needed to secure the object being photographed or the camera itself. Specialized terms are usually used in these cases, such as bondage for the former and tripod for the latter.

4: verb

the act of supporting something with a prop (3)

Example: I need to prop up the camera on my girl for this shot.

Definition 1: holiday ornaments
