Rubensesque refers to a body shape that Peter Paul Rubens made famous in his paintings centuries ago. The models of his day were not wafer thin. The women he painted were heavier than what is considered normal body weight today. He celebrated their curves - ample breasts and hips. Some confuse this body shape with being fat. Rubens did not paint woman who were obese. He simply found models that he admired their shape. Big beautiful woman (BBW) is often used to described this same body type.
