Nylons
Nylons is a slang expression for pantyhose and stockings hosiery.
To keep nylons or stockings up, you need a garter belt (a.k.a. suspenders in Europe). There are Stay-Up or Thigh High versions of nylons that utilize a wide elastic band of a tactile silicone. The performance of Stay-Ups are dependent upon the shape of the legs, age of the nylons, moisture/oil level of the skin, and level of activity - therefore Stay-Ups can not be considered reliable.
From the garter belt are short, adjustable suspenders that attach to the thicker top (Welt) of the nylons. The more suspenders, the smoother the nylons will look. The rule of thumb is four suspenders for stretchy nylons and six suspenders for non-stretch stockings. Adjust the rear suspenders so that it hangs about 5 cm or 2 inches shorter than the front suspenders and the side suspenders should be about 3 cm or 1 inch shorter than the front suspenders. This accommodates the differing travel distances between the front and back of your legs when you sit down. Stand up when attaching nylons and adjust suspenders to provide a slight pull on the nylons. Do not over stretch the nylons which makes them easier to run (tear).
