Elevator

Elevator: A semi-public environment often selected by exhibitionists. A meeting place to ask a gorgeous stranger, "Care to go down?" If you are going up, when exiting, thank her for giving you a rise.

To the British, elevators are called lifts (at least they didn't call them elevateurs). Americans call lifts shoe inserts to make short people appear taller.
