Subject: #20051102-160978 - Flash Cards Bunny Scavenager Hunt 03 - Picking up the pace for our Scavenger Hunt. Jacques and I decided to improve our education at THE library and with a field trip.

Contributor: Here we are at the steps of the Library of Congress Jefferson Building, which first opened in 1897. The Library design was based on the Paris Opera House.

Now where did I put my library card?

(scavenger hunt: Stairs)

Blue: Maybe your card slipped into your slot? ;)

Contributor: Congress purchased the personal library of Thomas Jefferson, at cost, after the British burned down the first Library of Congress during the War of 1812.

I wonder if they use an index card catalog system. Voyeur begins with a V?

Contributor: From the upper level, you can see the warm reflection from the 23-carat gold-plated dome.

On the floor are hand inlayed tiles ala ancient Rome.

And in between is my butt.

(scavenger hunt: Library)

Blue: Nice one ;)

Contributor: As you can see by the many guards at this Library, they take overdue books very seriously.

Contributor: The Library contains many treasured documents. Here is a copy of The Star-Spangled Banner hand written in1814, by its author, Francis Scott Key. He wrote new words to a popular London drinking song: To Anacreon in Heaven. And then in 1931, Congress adopted it as the U.S. national anthem.

No wonder the U.S.A. likes to par-tay.

Blue: Yummy body!

Contributor: And where was Francis Scott Key inspired to write The Star-Spangled Banner?

No, not at a pub. But here at Fort McHenry. More specifically he was on a ship about 13 kilometers (8 miles) away, while the British navy was bombarding Fort McHenry from the waters behind me.

When? September 13-14, 1814 Battle of Baltimore during the War of 1812.

Why? They were pissed at Americans stealing their drinking songs.

Blue: This is the best way to get educated!

Contributor: The valiant defenders at Fort McHenry stopped the British advance on Baltimore using big guns like these. The muzzle blasts of gas from these cannons can blow your clothes off if you stand too close.

Contributor: My own lyrics To Anacreon in Heaven:

O say can you see, no bra on Bunny here

Whose bright smiles and two tits. . . were so gallantly flashing . . .

(you can add the next verse)

Contributor: Since the Battle of Baltimore, no country has tried to attack Fort McHenry.

If they try, they will lose their drinking songs and get a good spanking.

Blue: Thanks!!
