Flip the bird is when a person raises only their middle finger towards another person. It means "fuck you" and generally not in the nice way of that phrase. Flipping the bird is also called giving the finger. It can be done in jest, often by drunken women. It can also be used when the patience of a woman runs out, see Arrogant Wfi. A much less used definition of the entry is turning avian species upside down.
