Subcategory platonic love is superficial, thought to be 'friendly love', but some form of sexual/sensual desire belies the condition. To have the affair there must be engagement and sharing of the experience. Pining from afar, or masturbating to mental or real images of the 'loved one' without their reciprocating feeling is not an affair.
